The Rath
Originally this area of land was established in the 18th centuary as a gun battery to defend the town. In the 1930's it was
carefully landscaped to create a pleasant green area with panoramic views of the Haven Waterway. There was an open air swimming
pool here, but it has been replaced by The Meads (Milfords modern indoor sports centre). On the site of the old pool, a water
garden has been built. Public access to the Rath and its Water Gardens is free.

Seal Hospital
This is a genuine, fully operational, hospital for seals and other marine life. The outside
clearly reveals that the entire building is an example of architectural recylcing - i.e it
is built into an oil refinery storage tank. Inside the tank is a modern recovery and treatment centre,
visitors are welcome, there is normally a sign to indicate whether there are any patients in the
hospital.

Gelliswick Beach
Do not adjust your screen, Gelliswick beach really does look pink. The colour comes from
pebbles of the natuaral red rocks. This is not a traditional sandy beach, instead it is
a working beach. The concrete slipway is wide enough for yachts and vessels up to about
40 foot to launch and recover, larger vessels occasionally
ground themselves between tides for maintainance work.
The building in the background is the thriving Pembrokeshire
Yacht Club and on the right hand side of the beach is Hubberston Fort built in the 1850's.
Use of the Slip is free and their is ample free roadside parking for both a vehicle and trailer. On
hot days in the summer season their can be queues to use the slip. Dinghies and smaller craft
can launch/recover directly onto the beach.

Milford Haven Marina
Although this is a fully equiped modern marina with all the berthing facilities you would expect,
the marina is also a focal centre for non-seafarers. The docks company have actively supported
the towns entertainment calendar and often consent to a large area of open land near the sea wall
to be used as an entertainment ground. Milford is well known for holding major ivents like the
Fire Day and RNLI Day, this location is able to accept the large crowds and offers excellent views
of waterbourne spectacles.

as the well known stores of Tescos, Boots, Bwise and Pound Stretcher the complex also houses a
C.B.S. store - this claims to be Britains largest Catalogue bargain store. C.B.S. has regular
special offers but can get very crowded when they have a full sale.
