Milford Haven Leisure
The Meads
Milford Haven is proud of its first class Sports and Leisure Centre with a wide range of facilities including ample free parking, a fully equiped indoor leisure centre, indoor swimming pool, dance school, sports hall, bowls rink, squash courts, tennis courts, lounge, indoor bowls, sauna/steamroom, outdoor tennis and fully equipped fitness studio. The Meads is operated by Pembrokeshire County Council, who also offer a second facility - Thornton Hall Sports Centre. Thornton Hall provides for Milford School so it is only available outside school hours. It's facilities include an indoor Sports Hall and 2 floodlit astro pitches (1 half size) for soccer/hockey. One of Milfords newest attractions, with 10 fully automated alleys, bar, childrens' play area and restaurant.

 
Milford Marina
The Marina, situated in the centre of town is suited to all pleasure boating actiities. Turn left at the marina entrance and you enter Miford Haven waterway which offers 22 miles of inland navigable water, much of it through idyllic wooded countryside. If the weather is favourable, turn right and enter the famous Pembrokeshire coastal National Park with its area of Special Scientific Interest. The Marina opened in 1991 for the great Tall Ships Race. It offers permanently floating pontoon moorings together with the usual facilities including chandelry, brokerage and fuel facilities.


 
Pembrokeshire Yacht Club
This active club, based at Gelliswick Bay (approx. 1 knot from the marina), is still accepting new members. They operate a busy race and social calendar and also organise dinghy training for junior members. Members can arrange to use the clubhouse yard for the storage of dinghies, motor boats and large yachts. The clubhouse itself is directly opposite a wide, gently sloping free public slipway that can accommodate large yachts. The yacht club also hosts major competitions such as the National Moth and Cherub Championship as shown below.


 
Golf
Milford Haven Golf Club is a full 18 hole course with spectacular views of the Haven from most holes. The club has a large tract of well maintained greens and roughs, that covers a wide. A fleet of golf carts is available. There is also a separate 9 hole course overlooking the Havens Head Retail Park and Marina complex.

 
Torch Theatre
Milford Havens Torch Theatre attracts a wide range of top national and international acts, together with talented local artists. Unlike many London Theatres, the Torch has relatively short production runs. This ensures that there is a wide and varied range of quality performances and a year round season of top events. Fishing
Milford offers many places for rod fishing and fishing in the Haven Waterway is free. Local angling retailers can supply your bait etc and the locals can suggest the best locations. Watch out in the season for a silver shimmering in the water. This may be the White Bait that signals the start of the Mackerel Season. Popular locations for shore based fishing include the 'Old Slip' in Gelliswick and the Haven side of the Marina sea wall. (Both locations are best fished on the flood. It is also possible to charter a fishing boat from the marina. Local catches include bass, flatties, conger, dogfish, pollack, mackerel and wrasse.
