Inland Walks in Milford Haven
SPECIAL NOTE
This section has not been updated recently. Some sections of these walks can become impassible during prolongued wet weather.
Inland Walks - Hubberston Pill Cyclepath
Comment
1km, very easy tarmac path. Minor climbs, no steps.

Path
Starting from Tescos 900/062. Find your way to the service lane situated directly behind the store. (The level lane, not the trading estate or steep hill). Continue down this lane for about 250m until the start of the cycle path on your left. Follow this tarmac path (no turnings) until you reach the end 903/073. Instead of immediately turning back, turn right at the road and continue for about 80m. You will be rewarded with a view of the old Lower Priory ruins.
Inland Walks - Castle Pill Circular Walk
Comment
Main circle about 2km. Various access points some extending route by 500m each way. Can be very boggy. Parts of main route suffer from tidal flooding. Areas prone to being extremely muddy. Suitable footwear advised. Route can sometimes be difficult to follow.

Access Points Black Bridge 916/061 - part of the path. Obvious dirt road on Waterston side of the pill.
On Milford Side of Pill at the end of the bridges railings, a narrow path heading inland.
Steynton Road 913/069 - look for green area between Mount Pleasant Way and Bunkers Hill. You join the circular route after about 500m. Route can get very wet.
Castle Pill Road 918/072 - Continue down Castle Pill Lane until the tarmac runs out. After descending to the Pill, pick up the circular trail.

Circular Path
Start from the Milford end of Black Bridge. 916/061. Squeeze past the last section of railings on the Milford inshore edge of the bridge and follow the path through the woods above Castle Pill. Keep progressing with the Pill on your right (quite often the path is out of sight of the pill). Eventually you will be able to turn right, clearing the tip of the pill. You should pick up a definite track and the going gets a lot easier. Stay on the track (generally the main track is always the right turn option). Eventually you return to the other end of Black Bridge.
Inland Walks - Path from Gelliswick Bay to Haven Drive
Comment
1km Hard surface but many patches have deteriorated with age. Overgrown in places buth the path is easy to follow. Route starts level then climbs quicky. Final section steep. Entire route is uphill.

Path Take the path across the beach lawns 885/057. Cross to the Scout Hut and follow path on wooded side of this building, Approximately 100m after the Scout Hut path becomes a peasant country walk. Eventually it appears to turn back on itself, it becomes steep and exits next to the Haven Drive recreational area.887/059. Walkers starting from Haven Drive should look for a footpath near house number 105. Take this path, then turn right at the T junction and youu will see the entrance to the Recreational Area. When you face the entrance gates, you will see a path running down each side of the play area. Ignore the tarmac path on the left and take the grassy path on the right.
Inland Walks - Liddeston Valley
Comment
1km tarmac path - easy going. Unusual route alongside a lake and past houses whose main access is via this path.

Path Take pedestrian access from Tesco to main road opposite the Bridge Inn 899/062. At the bridge/road junction take the path leading to the right. Follow path which becomes a lane. (There is an additional exit onto St Lawrence Hill off to the left, about halfway along the path.)

There is an optional extension to this walk but the path can get a little muddy in places. After the main path turns into a lane, contine for about 150m until you pass the last house on your left. Just past this house is a gap in a low stone wall giving access to a mud path. Follow this path and you will exit on the lane from Hakin to Liddeston, about 200m past the turning for Silverstream Drive.
